One of the main markets is the Armadale Market which hosts over 30 different stalls, including local crafts, flowers, food, and Christmas decorations. Hogmanay

If you’re lucky enough to be spending New Year’s Eve in Scotland, you’ll get to experience the joy that is Hogmanay. Hogmanay is similar to the traditional New Year’s celebrations but it has a Scottish twist to it and lasts over a few days. Traditionally, one of the main differences in Hogmanay is a torchlight procession, this is where people carry torches down a street to create a path of light. You’ll also enjoy local Scottish cuisine and watch the fireworks as the clocks strike midnight.

If you’re in the Isle of Skye for Hogmanay, there are many events going on in the area. Skeabost is hosting a number of packages you can book to bring in the new year. This can include a delicious 5 course Hogmanay celebration dinner, plenty of fizz throughout the evening, entertainment with Celidh and some fireworks, and a party to end the evening.

Snow on the island?

If you want that Christmassy feeling of snow around the Holidays, Isle of Skye can do that for you. If you’re a confident hiker, take a trip to the Cullins Mountain Range to explore possible snowy surroundings and take in the magnificent views at the top. If hiking isn’t your thing, you’ll have plenty of photo opportunities of these dramatic mountains to make you feel like you’re in the Alps.
