In the small village of Foyers, along the south side of Loch Ness, you’ll find the stunning Falls of Foyers. This spectacular waterfall plunges 140 feet into a gorge, winding through tall trees before eventually meeting Loch Ness.

As you follow the path through beautiful woodland, keep an eye out for the elusive red squirrels. The trail takes you down steep steps to the first of two viewpoints. From the upper viewpoint, the rocks part to reveal a breathtaking full view of the falls, perfect for capturing fantastic photos year-round.

If you’re up for more adventure, continue down more steep steps to the lower viewpoint, or follow the path along the gorge all the way to the shores of Loch Ness.

The scenery around the falls changes with the seasons. Snow melt, rainfall, and even sunny summer days can transform the flow from a gentle trickle to a powerful surge overnight.

The climb back up the steps is a great opportunity to take in the incredible views, trees, and wildlife. Before you know it, you’ll be back at the entrance, ready to choose one of the local cafés for a well-deserved cup of tea and cake.

There’s a car park on the main road opposite the entrance to the falls walk. The falls are free to visit and open all year round.
