By the Brae B&B is set in attractive grounds surrounded by mature beech and silver birch trees, and has plenty of parking for guests’ cars.  The 3 guest rooms promise a peaceful stay in this quiet location on the outskirts of Inverness.

All the bedrooms have recently been refurbished to a high standard. The Haggis room and the Neeps room (the largest of the 3 rooms) both have  king sized beds, and Tatties has a regular double bed.  Each room has an en suite shower room, and is equipped with a 32″ flatscreen TV (with a wide selection of Freeview channels), free WiFi, desk and chair, hospitality tray, superior comfort beds with hypoallergenic bedding and Egyptian cotton linen, bathrobes, fluffy towels,and a good selection of toiletries.  A partial glimpse of the Moray Firth and the hills of the Black Isle beyond can be seen from Haggis and Neeps, while Tatties looks onto the garden.

Breakfast, served in a light and spacious dining room, offers plenty of choice including healthy, Continental, or traditional full breakfast options, and uses fresh, local ingredients.  There’s a comfortable guest sitting room, and outside in the garden there are tables and chairs in sheltered nooks for guests’ enjoyment.

By the Brae is no-smoking throughout the house, although guests may smoke in the garden or the car park.

Culloden Battlefield and Clava Cairns are both just a few minutes drive from By the Brae, with Fort George and Cawdor Castle just 15 minutes drive.  Inverness city centre is 10 minutes drive.  The Battlefield Bar & Restaurant is 5 minutes drive (walking not recommended), as is Saffron Restaurant (20 to 25 minutes walk). Our favourite country pub, the Cawdor Tavern (situated in the beautiful preservation village of Cawdor), is an easy 12 minute drive.
